The February ATC swap at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group has the theme of the letter "B". I started out with an inventory tag (available at Collage Stuff) and over stamped it with a Tim Holtz background stamp. I clear embossed the black stamped image. Next the teal color in the corners with a Stencil Girl stencil and Dylusions paint. I used Distress Inks with Tim Holtz stencils in the lighter part of the background. I stamped the bird image on watercolor paper and colored it with Distress Inks. The bird is standing on black washi tape. I edged the ATC with black washi tape. Thanks for taking a peek at my letter B ATC.

Mermaid Art Journal Page Side Two
I had fun making this page! I designed the mermaids from elements from a Crow-About Studio B digital image kit. All of the images are from the kit. The background arches were made with a negative impression of a Stencil Girl stencil on a gelli plate. The black stenciling was made with some Tim Holtz stencils and the white circles used a Stencil Girl stencil. I outlined the images with colored pencils and a Fude Ball Pen. Thanks for coming by to see my mermaids!

The Big Picture Art Journal Spread
I started this out with some printed scrapbook paper and applied drops of Golden High Flow paints and smashed the pages together. I used a stencil and a baby wipe to remove some of the paint. I used stencil girl floral stencils with white and purple paint. I between the flowers I used a sort of honeycomb stencil girl stencil with white paint. The black center image is a Stencil Girl stencil with a piece of white floral lace applied in the center. I used a white glaze pen to highlight it. I applied the floral stamped image randomly with black ink and added a few purple circles. The bee image from Dina Wakely. I colored it in with purple and yellow paints and a gold paint pen. I used a yellow china marker to add yellow around the words and the bees. I finished the bees off by highlighting them with the gold paint pen. Thanks for coming by my blog!
Be Brave Art Journal Spread
I started out with a flower background under all of this and it just didn't work for me. So when things don't work for me, I keep going! I ended up using a Stencil Girl stencil with gold, black and white paint rotating the stencil with each color. Then I had something I liked! I added the woman's face with a Dina Wakley stencil. I went to work with a white glaze pen to embellish the pages. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Climb Art Journal Spread
I created these pages using Stencil Girl stencils, Dylusions paints, and glaze pens. I traced the large Klimt Forest Stencil and painted using Dylusions paints. I wasn't really careful because I knew I'd be going back in with the black paint. I used black Golden fluid arcylic to fill in around the painted areas. After that dried, I used a variety of small Stencil Girl stencils to add details to the larger painted areas. Then it was adding detail with the black and white gel pens. Thanks for coming by my blog.

Freedom Art Journal Pages
I had fun making this art journal spread last night. I started out by applying a few drops of acrylic ink on one page and then closing the pages together applying some pressure. This made the ink drops spread out into blobs. I did this with magenta, gold, and blue acrylic inks. Next I sprayed some gold spray ink. I painted in between the blobs with Dylusions paints. I outlined the blobs with a small paintbrush and black Golden fluid acrylic paint. Next, the Stencil Girl stencil with the circles. I cut some triangles out of different vintage books and glued those down with gel medium. I used a Stencil Girl stencil to add the words to the triangles. The little squares were added using a Balzer Designs Bits stencil. After that it was time to embellish with glaze and souffle pens. I never have anything in mind really when I sit down with my art journal. It's my place to experiment and have fun creating. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Every Day Art Journal Spread
I got in a some new stencils from iStencil and decided to put them to use. I used Dylusions paints (my current favorite paint), stencils from iStencil and Stencil Girl, glaze pens, and some vintage text. The patterned paper is some gelli printed paper that I made. The drips were made with acrylic ink. I never know how my art journal pages will end up. I just start and go where they lead! Thanks for coming by my blog!

Vintage Style Art Journal Page
This is an art journal page for the ongoing monthly art journal page swap I'm hosting at Collage Stuff. The recipient requested a vintage theme. The page was painted with yellow Dylusions paint toned down with some white Dylusions paint and overstamped with a brocade rubber stamp. I used the yellow Dylusions paint with an Artistcellar flower stencil and white Dylusions paint with a Dina Wakley stencil on the vintage book page. The striped paper is an envelope that I received in the mail with yellow and white paint around the edges. The children are from the Tim Holtz Found Relatives. The number 5 card is also from Tim Holtz. I cut up a vintage math flashcard and adhered brown vintage ribbon under it. The yellow butterflies are from Collage Stuff. I made this page while watching the movie, "The Guest". I recommend it! Thanks for coming by my blog!

Mixed Media ATC's
The June ATC swap at the Collage Stuff yahoo group has a birds, bugs and butterflies theme. This is my art for the swap. I made a gelli print background on deli paper and glued the deli paper to white cardstock. I used a Dina Wakley insects mask and applied black paint around the mask. I used a white Posca paint pen to make the white dots. The stickers are Tim Holtz small talk stickers. I found the tiny white flowers in my stash. I think my favorite one is the middle in the bottom row. How about you? Which is your favorite? Thanks for coming by my blog!

Sanity Art Journal Spread
Here's the last art journal spread for Lin's journal this week. I used Stencil Girl stencils, Dylusions paints, a black glaze pen, white Sharpie oil based marker, red and black china markers and some vintage text. Thanks for coming by my blog!
A Sunny Summer Day Art Journal Spread
This is an art journal spread for Lin's journal. She has the journals, so I'll glue this in when her journal comes back to me. The pages are 5" x 8". I started out sticking down some old alphabet stickers (small rectangles) and then the sticky grid that was left from around the letters. I scrunched up some white tissue paper and glued it down with white gesso. I covered the letters and the sun frame with the white gesso as well. Then it was time to add color. I finger painted with the Dylusions paints and then started stenciling with stencils from Stencil Girl, Joggles and Hero Arts. I used a black glaze pen to add dots, and journaling. I added light coat the gold Heidi Swap spray through a stencil. Thanks for coming by my blog!

She Went Bump in the Night
This is the back of the art journal page in the previous post. The front of the page asks if your garden is dark or light, does it have fairies or things that go bump in the night. The answer is: dark and things that go bump in the night! I used Dylusions ink sprays to color the Dylusions stamped images. I used mostly Dylusions paints. The Dylusions skull stencil is used in the background along with Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop stencils. I outlined everything with a black Pitt pen. Thanks for coming by my blog!
