House Book Page

My muse has gone into hiding today. I couldn't even fix the first mess of a house page that I started on today. This photo is a little washed out. The colors are more vivid in person. I found a package of coordinating scrapbook papers and tore the different ones up and guled them down. I used a purple Copic marker to hightlight the edges of the torn papers. I overstamped the papers with two of my favorite stamps using the purple Distress Ink pad, poured gold embossing powder over the whole thing and put the heat tool to work. The embossing powder stuck randomly. I found the large gold German scrap flower, purple flower, stamp stickers and "Dream" in my art stash. The vintage girl image is from the Collage Stuff "Celeste" collage sheet. After I attached everything to the background, I used the purple Copic marker around the edges of the girl image. I stamped the number stamp around the edges. I used the ever popular sequin waste as a stencil for the dots. Not a lot of stuff on here, but with a very busy background, too much stuff on the background would get lost.

Background Collage Sheets

Just finished up these three background collage sheets. The images are all sized for ATC backgrounds, but of course, they could be used for any art project. Available at Collage Stuff now!

Broken Collage Sheet

Here's a brand new collage sheet featuring my favorite new cemetery angel. It will be available at Collage Stuff soon.

Broken Postcard

I love this cemetery angel image. It speaks volumes to me. This postcard is a compilation of three photos - the side of a crypt (sounds creepy, I know!), a cemetery headstone and the angel.

My new favorite cemetery image

I love this image! It's my new favorite cemetery image. She's broken, but still holding it all together. She's kind of like all of us have been at some point in our lives. You'll be seeing some new Collage Stuff cemetery collage sheets soon.

New collage

This is a little collage I completed last night. It's on 3 x 4" stretched canvas. The main image is from the Collage Stuff Angel Faces 2 collage sheet. I started by painting the canvas blue. I tore up different bit of blue scrapbook papers and vintage text and glued them down with gel medium. I applied the central image and then glued more bits of the papers on the image itself. I wanted the entire canvas to kind of look white-washed and hazy, so I painted white gesso over the top and sponged it off with a wet paper towel. I stamped with a text stamp in a dark blue. I brushed white crackle paint in a haphazard fashion around the top edges of the canvas. Two little blue flowers complete the design.

"Amy" Mixed Media Collage

Meet "Amy"! This is a mixed media collage on a 5 x 7" stretched canvas. The central image is from the Collage Stuff "Angel Faces" collage sheet. It started out as a black and white image. I used acrylic paints thinned with clear glazing medium to add color to the image. I can't paint, but I can color with a paintbrush - kind of like painting by numbers, when you think about it. There is a piece of a vintage phone book in the background. I used the new Studio paints by Claudine Helmuth - Painterly Pink and Studio Tan. I really like these paints. You can thin them way down with water and they still retain the color. I used a variety of stamps with a brown Brilliance ink. The finishing touch is the floral trim. I painted over the trim with the Studio Tan thinned down to a watery consistency. It dims the bright white of the trim.
