My World Art Journal Spread

Here's a spread in my small Dylusions art journal.  The paints are Dylusions paints applied with a cosmetic sponge. All of the stencils are from Stencil Girl.  The butterfly images are Dina Wakley stamps.  I used glaze and paint pens to doodle and embellish. I added red/white washi tape in a few places.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

The Big Picture Art Journal Spread

I started this out with some printed scrapbook paper and applied drops of Golden High Flow paints and smashed the pages together.  I used a stencil and a baby wipe to remove some of the paint.  I used stencil girl floral stencils with white and purple paint.  I between the flowers I used a sort of honeycomb stencil girl stencil with white paint.  The black center image is a Stencil Girl stencil with a piece of white floral lace applied in the center.  I used a white glaze pen to highlight it.  I applied the floral stamped image randomly with black ink and added a few purple circles.  The bee image from Dina Wakely.  I colored it in with purple and yellow paints and a gold paint pen.  I used a yellow china marker to add yellow around the words and the bees.  I finished the bees off by highlighting them with the gold paint pen. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Be Brave Art Journal Spread

I started out with a flower background under all of this and it just didn't work for me.  So when things don't work for me, I keep going!  I ended up using a Stencil Girl stencil with gold, black and white paint rotating the stencil with each color.  Then I had something I liked!  I added the woman's face with a Dina Wakley stencil.  I went to work with a white glaze pen to embellish the pages.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Numbers Themed Glue Book Pages

The July swap at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group is a numbers themed glue book page swap.  Glue book pages are made by just gluing papers down - no embellishments period.  I like glue book pages because I don't like a lot of embellishment on collage art. I was going to make one of them with the number 3, but since the pages are 4x6",  I couldn't get three of each collage element on the page.   Thanks for coming by my blog!

Climb Art Journal Spread

I created these pages using Stencil Girl stencils, Dylusions paints, and glaze pens.  I traced the large Klimt Forest Stencil and painted using Dylusions paints.  I wasn't really careful because I knew I'd be going back in with the black paint.  I used black Golden fluid arcylic to fill in around the painted areas. After that dried, I used a variety of small Stencil Girl stencils to add details to the larger painted areas.  Then it was adding detail with the black and white gel pens.  Thanks for coming by my blog.

Anyone interested in an art journal round robin?

I would like to find a few people to participate in art journal round robin.  I'm thinking of using something about the size of the small Dylusions journal - pages about 8" x 5".  We would exchange journals on a monthly basis.  If you are interested, drop me an email with your contact info including your blog link.  thelisalisa@collagestuff.com  This would be for fun, no pressure to create perfect art.  This is something I would like to do.  I love art journaling - the creative process, the starting a page and finding out where it leads, just playing and experimenting!  I feel that we can learn from each other in a creative journey!

Freedom Art Journal Pages

I had fun making this art journal spread last night.  I started out by applying a few drops of acrylic ink on one page and then closing the pages together applying some pressure.  This made the ink drops spread out into blobs.  I did this with magenta, gold, and blue acrylic inks.  Next I sprayed some gold spray ink.  I painted in between the blobs with Dylusions paints.  I outlined the blobs with a small paintbrush and black Golden fluid acrylic paint.  Next, the Stencil Girl stencil with the circles. I cut some triangles out of different vintage books and glued those down with gel medium.  I used a Stencil Girl stencil to add the words to the triangles.  The little squares were added using a Balzer Designs Bits stencil.  After that it was time to embellish with glaze and souffle pens.  I never have anything in mind really when I sit down with my art journal.  It's my place to experiment and have fun creating.  Thanks for coming by my blog!
