Purple Art Journal Page

Here's a purple themed art journal page.  Most of the paint is gouache.  I used Dina Wakley and Donna Downey stencils.  I love the Donna Downey pods stencil.  I stenciled it with black paint, put the stencil back down and sprayed white Dylusions spray ink over the black to tone it down.  The butterflies are stamped on tissue paper and glued down.  The words are Tim Holtz stickers.

This is the back of the page.  I used Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop stencils with acrylic paint.  I glued down bits of scrapbook papers and vintage text for the background.  I cut circles from washi tape and applied these circles to 3 of the purple circles.  I used a small alphabet stamp for the words, stamping on the sides of a vintage book page.   Thanks for coming by my blog!

Vintage Themed art journal page

For the art journal page swap I'm hosting at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, I had to make another replacement page for a participant.  The theme for this page is "vintage".    I made the background with paint and stencils.  I used several Tim Holtz items and Collage Stuff items.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Numbers Theme for Art Journal Page Swap

At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, I'm hosting an art journal page swap.  The theme for my March page is numbers.  For the top photo, I started out using Colorbox Spritzers to add the base colors.  Next came stencils with paint, and then a number stencil with modeling paste.  I colored in the Dylusions stamped image with Starlight pens and used the vintage ticket to ground the image.  I added the Dylusions quote and outlined the stamped images with a Stabilio All Pencil.  I sprayed the page with workable fixative to seal the pencil markings.  For the bottom photo, I started out with a vintage ledger page for the background.  I used a Tim Holtz layering stencil with red spray ink.  I stenciled the numbers with brown paint.  I added a Tim Holtz Found Relatives image, Tim Holtz vellum ephemera, vintage phone book strip, washi tape, vintage tickets and a dictionary page with holes cut out.  I painted the holey dictionary page with brown paint. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Love and Romance ATC Swap

At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, the February swap is a Love and Romance ATC Swap.  For the background, I used some gelli prints on deli paper and white cardstock that I had left over from my Valentine cards.  Since the deli paper is translucent, I layered it over some vintage text (ATC on the right).  I scanned in a page from a dictionary and cut out the love definition. The image and embellishments are all available at Collage Stuff.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Opposites Attract Art Journal Spread

I got the new Ranger Transparent Texture Paste in at Collage Stuff, so I thought I'd test it out.  The consistency was that of soft gel medium - not what I expected.  First I applied gesso to the pages.  I used a The Crafter's Workshop template and traced the circles on the page.  Then I traced the circle on an old dictionary page and cut out enough circles.  I applied the circles with a glue stick.  I applied the texture paste over the circles with the stencil.  I wanted to see if it would act as a resist for the spray inks I used.  It did, sort of.  The lines were made with a Stencil Girl stencil.  I used the new Dina Wakley Insects Mask/Stencils to apply the butterflies and bee.  I used a The Crafter's Workshop 4x4 stencil for the black/white tiny boxes.  I stamped the word "fly" on Tim Holtz labels and applied those last.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Fantasy Art Journal Page

I'm hosting an art journal page swap this year at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group.  I had to make a replacement page for one of the participants.  Her theme is fantasy.  For the first photo, I sketched a face in the Jane Davenport style - sort of!  I didn't intend to have the pink drips under the eyes, but art happens!  I was using a Posca paint pen to put dots around the eyes and ended up with a blob instead.  I pulled the blob down and made the same paint blob on the other eye.  I rather like it!  The bottom photo uses Dylsuions stamps.  I tend to overdo on the backgrounds, so I painted gesso in the middle of the page and overstamped with a text stamp.  This way my "mermaid" stands out from the background a little.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Spirited and Strong Art Journal Pages

I finished up this art journal spread last night.  I recently bought some Spellbinders dies on clearance and used one set for this spread.  I love these arch dies. The stamps are from Dina Wakley.  I used stencil from Joggles, Stencil Girl, The Crafter's Workshop, Tim Holtz and Dina Wakley.  The hearts were made using a stencil and flexible modeling paste. I colored the women with Copic makers.   Thanks for coming by my blog!

Valentine's Day Card

Last night I decided I had to get my Valentine's Day cards done.  I mono-printed some background papers using stencils from Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop with my gelli plate. The hearts are die cuts from a Sizzix set.  I added sequin hearts and a gold German scrap arrow available from Collage Stuff.  I added some bling with the hot pink jewels at the top and bottom.  The sentiment on the inside reads "happy valentine's day" except for my single friends, the sentiment reads "happy un valentine's day."  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Exhausted Art Journal Spread

Here's another spread in my own art journal.  I love the Dylusions quote stamps.  All of the stamped images are Dylusions.  I have used a variety of different stencils, washi tapes, gels pens, flexible modeling paste and vintage text in this spread.  Thanks for coming by my blog!
