Letter "D" ATC Swap
At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, the August Swap is a Letter "D" ATC swap. For two similar ATCs, I used vintage sheet music and vintage journal pages for the background. I used Distress Oxide Inks around the edges and stencil leaves with a The Crafter's Workshop Template. I stenciled in some black accents with another The Crafter's Workshop Template. The girl image is from the Collage Stuff "Tiny Treasures" collage sheet. I colored with girl with Copic markers. I found the dragonfly stamps on the web. The dance definition is from an old dictionary that I copied and aged with Antique Linen Distress Stain. For the third ATC, I started with the vintage sheet music, added part of gelli print and added part of a yellow Victorian Scrap rose available at Collage Stuff. The two dancers are from the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls set and are colored with Copic markers. I used Tim Holtz label letters and various pens for outlining and highlighting. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

March Easter Tag Swap
At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, the March swap is an Easter tag swap. I used the following items available at Collage Stuff: inventory tags, white lace, burlap string, Victorian scrap, vintage sheet music and small dragonfly brass charms. I started out making a background using acrylic paints and Stencil Girl stencils. The honeycomb in the background is from Tim Holtz. I added vintage sheet music and an image of Easter sheet music. The Easter Victorian scrap was applied next, some vintage sheet music at the bottom, and added the dragonfly charms. "Easter Greetings" was printed and aged with Antique Linen Distress Stain. White lace and burlap string in natural and red finish off the tags. Thanks for coming by to see my Easter tags!

I added vintage text to the background and a strip of washi tape. The flowers are Victorian scrap, the heart is German scrap and the words are from the Victorian Valentine collage sheet - all available at Collage Stuff. I edged the ATC with a pink Posca glitter pen. Thanks for stopping by today and Happy New Year!

Clocks ATC swap on the Artisttradingcards Yahoo Group
I'm hosting a clocks themed artist trading card swap on the artisttradingcards yahoo group. This is my art for the swap. I printed some clock transparencies, and used vintage ledger pages for the background. Glossy accents works perfectly for adhering transparencies. I found the image of the man and the ship in my stash. The numbers are all from UK bus tickets. The floral Victorian scrap is available at Collage Stuff and the little Venise piece was something I found in my stash. I never know what I'm going to find in my art stashes. Thanks for coming by today!

January Art Journal Page Swap
At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, we're doing an art journal page swap starting in January. We will each do one page (front and back) from a loose leaf bound journal and send it on. This is for Laurie and her theme was something like bugs, butterflies and insects. So there are butterflies on here! I drew this face on the background it was hard to see the sketch lines that I had drawn. I had fun creating this page. Thanks for coming by my blog!

Lin's Art Journal
My friend, Lin (click here for Lin's Etsy store) and I are participating in a little art journal round robin - just the two of us. Here are the first two pages that I've finished in Lin's journal.
The top spread, the birds, was a lesson in how there are no mistakes in art, only opportunities. I had a perfectly fine background created and messed it up adding more stuff. I can save just about anything! I ended up painting over the top of it and trying it again. I used Dylusions spray inks and rubber stamps. I used 2 of The Carfter's Workshop templates. I added texture with modeling paste. I love the Dina Wakeley "Scribbly Birds" stamps. I colored the birds and houses with the new Dina Wakely heavy body acrylic paints. In both spreads, I used a page or part of a page from a vintage children's spelling textbook.
The second spread uses mostly Victorian scraps available at Collage Stuff. I love the timeless beauty of these images. I used lace, a doily, buttons, two items from the Tim Holtz Thrift Shop ephemera pack, Petaloo flowers and lots of butterflies! I fins some sort of stencil to be a must and used one of The Crafter's Workshop templates - available at Collage Stuff. For this spread, I also used a paper that I created with my gelli plate. I toned it down a little with white gesso.
I encourage everyone to art journal. It's art that you create for yourself. I love the feeling of artistic freedom that I get from just playing and trying different things.
Thanks for stopping by!

June Vintage Wedding ATC Swap
The June swap at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group is a Vintage Wedding ATC swap. I made a background paper using my gelli plate, acrylic paints, stencils and deli paper. I applied a vintage dictionary page to the ATC base and then glued my custom background paper over it. The marriage certificate image is from the Graphics Fairy. The wedding couple is my maternal grandparents and may be found on the Family Weddings collage sheet. I added the Victorian scrap heart, brass charm and lace all available at Collage Stuff. The numbers are from the Theresa Collins Basics line also available at Collage Stuff. I almost forgot about the Tim Holtz Filmstrip Ribbon that I applied over the bride. Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Tag Swap
The March swap at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group is an Easter tag swap! Here's my first tag. I purchased the background papers at Etsy. I used four different Victorian scrap sheets available at Collage Stuff, 7389,7222,7408, and 7373. The tiny photo of the girl with the Easter bunny may be found on the Collage Stuff Easter Greetings collage sheet. The Collage Stuff Red Border Label collage sheet is all blank red border labels. I opened this in my graphics editing software and added the words "Easter Greetings." This collage sheet is perfect to make custom red border labels. The brass nest with eggs is available at Collage Stuff as well as the white and red lace. The 3.5" white paper doilies are also available at Collage Stuff. Almost forgot about the Red Fleur Border German scrap and vintage text from Collage Stuff.
I like to scan in the Victorian scraps. This allows me to resize them and print them at just the size I need for my art.
