Look at this lovely ATC created by the talented LuAnne B. I love it! LuAnne has incorporated 3 Collage Stuff collage sheets into this work of art - the Altered Madonna, More Madonna and Altered London #1 Black/White ATC collage sheets. Thanks to LuAnne for sharing her art with all of us!

Back of Skinny Book Page
I finished the design of the back of the skinny book page. I guess I'm a mininalist as I don't ever really use a lot of embellishments. I'm guilty of making complex backgrounds that I don't want to cover up, but end up covering nearly completely. For the background, I covered the 4 x 8" chipboard with some patterned scrapbook paper. I added parts of pages of a German dictionary. I painted thinned down Sand acrylic paint over this and then I overstamped all this my Stylish Background stamp with gold paint. I tore a black and white image from the Altered London #1 collage sheet and covered it thinned down Sand paint, stamped gold paint with a scrolly stamp and glued it down near the top. The angel is from a cemetery here in Houston. I printed her kind of a navy blue. She was glued down and covered with the thinned down Sand paint. Gold Golden Glaze went over the top of everything. I overstamped this with two stamps with indigo ink - a text stamp and a crackle stamp. It needed more, but it was hard to determine just what it needed. What I ended up using was two items from the Gold Embellishments German Scrap at the top and bottom. I applied Sand paint to tone the gold down and added some light blue jewels. I applied the indigo ink to the edges of the piece.
It never fails. I cannot glue anything down straight! I tried to be careful gluing the embellishments down and the bottom one is crooked. Oh well!
Skinny Book Page
If you can believe this, I started this out thinking I would do this in greens, since there is some green on the statue. As I went along, I switched to the purple. This is what usually happens. I start out thinking one thing and end up with something totally different! The colors in this photo aren't quite right, but you can get the idea.
The angel is a new one. I photographed her about two weeks ago here in a Houston cemetery. This same statue was in two different places in the cemetery, but this one was older with more character.
This has layers of paint and glaze. I started out with green background paper. I stamped it in black with the Collage Stuff Stylish Background stamp. You can see this stamping at most of the corners. I got this piece of vintage music as a hostess gift in a swap. I liked the words "Send the Light." It went down next. I put Gold Golden Glaze over the entire thing. I use my fingers to do this - to spread the glaze around where I want it. I glued the angel down next. Then I diluted some Sand Ranger Acrylic Paint. I brushed this paint on the entire "canvas". I wanted the angel to blend more into the background. I diluted Studio Purple Palette paint with water. I stamped the paint with a scrolly stamp and a number stamp skirting around the angel image. After that dried, I went back with another layer of Gold Golden Glaze, but didn't put the glaze over the angel this time. I brushed the undiluted purple paint around the edges of the piece. The purple flowers I had were too bright. I brushed them with diluted Sand paint and gold Golden Glaze. I used a button brad to attach the flowers. The butterflies are gold German scrap butterflies that I colored with the purple paint. I moved the paint around with my fingers to get the look I wanted. The buttons at the bottom of the angel's dress are kind of like the hem. I didn't want to leave the bottom of her dress plain. I cut a little heart out of chipboard, painted it purple and dabbed the gold glaze over the purple.
The theme for this book is about dreams, so the colors are supposed to be muted. I guess this is kind of muted colors. I like this and I only have to please myself when I create art!

Fly Away Back Cover
At the Collage Stuff yahoo group, we are starting on a new little fat book swap. The book is titled "Fly Away" and it is a bird-themed LFB swap. I make the covers for these books. The back cover is always digitally designed, while I make hand-made front covers. I used images from the following Collage Stuff collage sheets in this design: Angel Faces, On the Wing, Lovely Nests and the I Love NYC. I made the "fly away" at the Acme Label Maker website. Several elements were added by using PSP brushes - the crown on the bird, the gear around the eye and "branches" around the nest. I like to put words over lips, as though the words are being spoken. After I thought I was done with this, I went back in and added the words "dance on the wind".

Cemetery Photo Outing Today
Today my friend, H, and I made a trip to Glenwood cemetery here in Houston. We've photographed the statues here previously, but wanted to go back. This morning it was cool and cloudy. This is the perfect weather for photographing the statues. When it gets too bright, the shadows become too pronounced. This afternoon, it got pretty bright and the photos weren't nearly as good. The first photo is of an angel that was new. I hadn't seen her before. She's really pretty made of sparkling marble. Note the heavy shadow. We got to her in the afternoon.
The second photo is of a woman that I've photographed before. She's up on a pedastel, so she's harder to photograph than a statue on the ground. I like the way the photos of her turned out. I think they have a very ethereal quality with the brighter light in the sky. If it had been cloudy, the photos of this statue would have been much better.
The third statue. This one has ALWAYS creeped me out. It's the eyes. It's much creepier in person. This angel is a male angel too. Kinda diffferent.
This fourth angel is one of my very favorites. She's up on a steep hill and she's hard to photograph. I kept wanting to step back a step and if I would have, I would have tumbled down the hill. I was disheartened as this statue had a lot of repair work done on it. I don't remember this many repairs the last time I photographed this statue. I think some of the damage might be hurricane related.

The last statue here kinda creeped me out a little too. I'm certain that the person this statue was modeled after was a perfectly pleasant person. I think that this statue probably gets up and walks around the cemetery at night. There was just something about it.
We plan on going back again when the weather is cloudy. There were several statues that we really wanted to photograph, but it was just too bright.
Soon, I'll make a new collage sheet with the best of the images. I snapped close to 400 photos today and I will get one new collage sheet out of the 400 photos.

Altered Madonna Images
I got some new old images of the the Madonna and Child. I made collage sheets with these new images. I decided to go ahead and alter some of the images using vintage sheet music as the background. This image is a sample of what will be on the "Altered Madonna Collage Sheet" that will be available at Collage Stuff soon. It will have images sized for ATC's, 2 x 2", and microscope slides.

Another New Postcard
I've been in the digital art mood lately, so here's another new postcard that I created. The background photo is a vintage photo of New York City. The photo of the man is yet another photo that I need to get on a collage sheet someday. I used brushes to apply the postmarks and music. I wanted to put some words on this. I thought about "an ordinary man," "a man of means," "yesterday," "he longed for the lights of the city,"etc, but decided to leave it without words. I couldn't find the words that I was looking for. I have realized that I really like the vintage photos of cities and landmarks for backgrounds. This postcard will be here in a couple of weeks and will then start shipping with Collage Stuff orders.

New Postcard
Here is a new postcard that I created today. It's a vintage photo of Westminster Abbey altered digitally. I think it almost looks a little steampunk. This image in different colors will be available on a collage sheet at Collage Stuff soon!

New Collage Sheets
I got in some new vintage photos of London for collage sheets. I made one collage sheet of just the photos. Then I decided to alter the photos to make other collage sheets. These pictures are samples of the "Altered London Collage Sheets" that will be available at Collage Stuff this weekend. The collage sheets feature these images in different colors and sizes. There are 4 sheets for ATC backgrounds and 2 sheets of larger full size photo images. I think both of these photos are from Westminster Abbey.
