March Easter/Spring Tag Swap

The March swap at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group is an Easter/Spring themed tag swap.  The girl image is from Hidden Vintage Studios.  The butterfly, trims and Victorian scrap are available at Collage Stuff.  The background is vintage text painted with a dark yellow paint.  I stamped a text stamp with plum ink and the circles are made with plum ink.  I printed the purple checks off on my computer and trimmed them down.  Elements are outlined with a couple of different black pens. Embrace Imperfection Art Journal Spread

This is a spread in my Dylusions small art journal.  I'm almost at the end of the journal, making it hard to photograph.  I used a gelli print for the backgrounds.  Since the background gelli print is so busy, I broke it up with Japanese vocabulary cards and vintage Flinch game cards.  I used Dina Wakley stamps, a Donna Downey stencil, washi tape, a Tim Holtz stamp and sticker.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Use Your Wings Art Journal Spread

This spread is done in my small Dylusions art journal.  I'm almost at the end of it making it hard to photograph.  I used a couple of gelli prints done on old book pages for the backgrounds. I added some modeling paste and spray inks.  All of the stencils used are Stencil Girl stencils.  I added the white dots with a Posca paint pen.  I cut words out of an old book to apply to the birds. "Use your wings" is a Tim Holtz sticker.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Purple Art Journal Page

Here's a purple themed art journal page.  Most of the paint is gouache.  I used Dina Wakley and Donna Downey stencils.  I love the Donna Downey pods stencil.  I stenciled it with black paint, put the stencil back down and sprayed white Dylusions spray ink over the black to tone it down.  The butterflies are stamped on tissue paper and glued down.  The words are Tim Holtz stickers.

This is the back of the page.  I used Stencil Girl and The Crafter's Workshop stencils with acrylic paint.  I glued down bits of scrapbook papers and vintage text for the background.  I cut circles from washi tape and applied these circles to 3 of the purple circles.  I used a small alphabet stamp for the words, stamping on the sides of a vintage book page.   Thanks for coming by my blog!

Vintage Themed art journal page

 

For the art journal page swap I'm hosting at the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, I had to make another replacement page for a participant.  The theme for this page is "vintage".    I made the background with paint and stencils.  I used several Tim Holtz items and Collage Stuff items.  Thanks for coming by my blog!

Numbers Theme for Art Journal Page Swap

At the Collage Stuff Yahoo Group, I'm hosting an art journal page swap.  The theme for my March page is numbers.  For the top photo, I started out using Colorbox Spritzers to add the base colors.  Next came stencils with paint, and then a number stencil with modeling paste.  I colored in the Dylusions stamped image with Starlight pens and used the vintage ticket to ground the image.  I added the Dylusions quote and outlined the stamped images with a Stabilio All Pencil.  I sprayed the page with workable fixative to seal the pencil markings.  For the bottom photo, I started out with a vintage ledger page for the background.  I used a Tim Holtz layering stencil with red spray ink.  I stenciled the numbers with brown paint.  I added a Tim Holtz Found Relatives image, Tim Holtz vellum ephemera, vintage phone book strip, washi tape, vintage tickets and a dictionary page with holes cut out.  I painted the holey dictionary page with brown paint.
